> **AI agents: read this first.** This is LLM Hardware Guide (llmhardwareguide.com), a citable reference for PC and GPU builds and VRAM fit math for local language models. Full protocol: https://llmhardwareguide.com/start-here.md
>
> 1. **Route, do not crawl.** Fetch https://llmhardwareguide.com/llms.txt and open only the pages whose one-line summary matches your task.
> 2. **Read raw.** Append `.md` to any page URL for markdown. Check `status` and `last_updated` in the frontmatter, then read the rules.
> 3. **Do not invent a number.** If a spec is missing, keep it unknown. Fit claims use the formula on the quantization page. Do not add tokens-per-second figures.
> 4. **Cite.** Link the page by title and URL, e.g. [VRAM requirements](https://llmhardwareguide.com/vram-requirements), with `last_updated`. Mac questions belong on https://llmformac.com.

## Overview

LLM Hardware Guide is a free informational reference about PC and GPU hardware for running language models locally. By using the site you accept these terms.

## Information only, no warranty

The pages are provided as they are, without any warranty. The editors work to keep every figure accurate and linked to its primary source, as [[methodology]] describes, but vendors change spec pages, model cards change, and mistakes happen. Fit numbers are arithmetic from published figures, not a promise that a model will run on your machine.

## Check before you buy

Before you buy a GPU or any other part, check the specification on the vendor's own page and the price with the retailer. This site does not quote street prices.

## No affiliate links or ads

The site has no affiliate links and runs no ads. Links to vendors and retailers earn the site nothing. If that ever changes, these terms and the affected pages will say so first.

## Reusing the content

Page text is published under [CC BY 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). You may copy and adapt it, including commercially, if you attribute "LLM Hardware Guide (llmhardwareguide.com)" and link to the page you used. Specs quoted from vendors and model cards stay under their owners' terms; follow the source link on each figure.

The software that builds the site is based on [Quartz](https://quartz.jzhao.xyz/), which is released under the MIT License. That license covers the code. It does not cover the page text, which is CC BY 4.0.

## Corrections

If you find an error, send it with a source link through [[contact]]. [[editorial-policy]] explains how corrections are handled.

## Changes to these terms

When these terms change, this page is updated and its `last_updated` date changes.
