Overview

llmhardwareguide.com explains PC and GPU builds and VRAM tiers for a language model that runs on a computer you own. The Mac question, which model fits which Mac, is the job of llmformac.com.

What this site answers

The pages start from a formula, not from a leaderboard. llm-quantization-explained states how weight bytes and KV-cache bytes are calculated. vram-requirements, 24gb-vs-16gb-vs-12gb-vram, best-gpu-for-local-llm, and rtx-3090-vs-4090-vs-5090-llm apply that formula to published model cards and vendor spec pages. local-llm-pc-build and run-llm-on-cpu cover the rest of the machine: system RAM, power, and CPU offload.

What this site will not invent

methodology is the rule. A tokens-per-second figure is not published here unless the vendor page or the project README publishes it and names the machine. This site does not quote a street price. Check current retailer price. Intel Arc VRAM is unknown: the Intel specifications URL returned HTTP 403 on that date.
